Cashmere, is produced from cashmere goats and pashmina goats which are considered to be a premium wool. Cashmere fibers are exceptionally soft and strong, almost feeling like silk to the touch.

Because cashmere fibers are very fine and thin, they tend to make fabrics lighter and warmer when compared to sheep wool. Cashmere is often turned into wool blends with other kinds of wool, such as merino, to give it added weight.

How to know original cashmere fabric

Cashmere is a fiber made from the hair of goats. It’s often used in sweaters, scarves, and other clothing items because it’s soft, warm, and durable. It’s also expensive—and it’s easy for someone to get ripped off by buying an inferior product that’s been labeled as cashmere but isn’t really.

Here are some tips for knowing whether the cashmere you’re buying is genuine:

  • Look at the label. A true cashmere product will have a tag that says “100% Cashmere” or something similar. If there’s no label at all, don’t buy it.
  • Feel the fabric with your hands. Real cashmere will be soft and smooth, not rough or scratchy like synthetic fibers such as acrylic or wool are. Also make sure there aren’t any pills or nubs on the surface of the fabric (these are signs of wear).
  • Check its weight compared with other fabrics of similar size and thickness; real cashmere tends to be lighter than synthetics because it traps heat better while still being breathable enough to keep you cool in hot weather conditions!
